Health Care Teams Have Conducted More than 4.5 Million Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Screenings of Nearly 2.6 Million Medi-Cal Members

The ACEs Aware initiative released its September 2025 quarterly data report, which highlights continued progress in screening Medi-Cal members for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and expanding provider training statewide.

From January 1, 2020, through September 30, 2024, Medi-Cal clinicians conducted 4,545,560 ACE screenings of 2,595,320 unique Medi-Cal members. Between December 4, 2019, and July 31, 2025, the initiative also continued to grow its provider training reach, with more than 49,190 individuals completing the Becoming ACEs Aware in California online training, including approximately 23,270 Medi-Cal clinicians who are now ACEs Aware-certified and eligible to receive Medi-Cal payment for conducting ACE screenings.
